Roar Week Highlights!

Roar Week was a blast! With hundreds of alumni coming in and activities for our entire community to take part in, we could not have asked for any better way to celebrate our 100th Speech Night and 130th Anniversary. Check out the highlight video below to see how it all went down!

Day 1 King George V School-28.JPG

Day 1

Today marked the beginning of KGV's Roar Week, celebrating 130 years of our school's rich history and vibrant diversity! We kicked off with an International Dress Day, showcasing the wide array of cultures represented in our community. Alumni joined us for inspiring sessions on drama and music, sharing their experiences with current students. We also had a whole school photo on the field, forming "KGV 130"!

Roar Week Day 2 could not have gone any better! The Evening of Music and Dance which had unreal performances, a delicious staff appreciation lunch provided by the PTSA, student inspired recipes for pizza and cupcakes, stalls for spirit day fundraising and an alumni paleontologist! Could not have asked for any thing else.

We enjoyed themed food and celebrated Bring Your Parents to School Day including a school community lunch. To take a trip down memory lane, we also had three periods of no electricity teaching!

Day 4 King George V School-409.JPG

Day 4

we celebrated our 100th Speech Night! The festivities began on the field with vibrant performances, delicious food, and a special cake-cutting ceremony honoring both our 130th anniversary and this milestone event.
The evening culminated in the awards ceremony, where we recognized the outstanding achievements of our students. We were thrilled to hear inspiring speeches from beloved alumni Lyman Heung, Aarif Rahman, and KJ Jhangiani. A historic moment for us and our community!

Day 5

We held a special ceremony to commemorate this historic week, including a time capsule ceremony to preserve items that represent our celebrations.

We were excited to welcome students from Clearwater Bay School, who enjoyed activities like downball and tours of our school's historical landmarks. Plus, we honored our trivia champions from the week, recognizing their impressive scores!
